Today marks the day "K9 veterans" are acknowledged for their vital services in our communities. Young children are often quite aware of the working dogs they see or discover anecdotally. Enslow author, Jeff Burlingame, was on hand at the 43rd NAACP Image Awards ceremony held on February 17 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles California to receive the award for Outstanding Literary Work in the Youth/Teens category.  This was the second year in a row that Mr. Burlingame was nominated for this award. Last year, he was nominated for another Enslow biography, Malcolm X: "I Believe in the Brotherhood of Man."
